WELCOME TO VISIT THE FIRST BOTANIC GARDEN IN MKINGA DISTRICT, TANGA REGION, NORTH-EASTERN TANZANIA

It is here and it is real! A botanic garden is being opened in Maramba village, plot no. 150 with fruit trees, shade trees and flowers. Follow us!

Papaya fruits from the “Tend Ten Trees” project

We are harvesting papaya fruits!
Blandina Shehiza rejoices as her trees bear fruits. She joined the Tend Ten Trees (TTT) Project in 2022.
Like Blandina Shehiza, May Philipo joined the TTT programme in 2022. On Sunday 3/3/2024 May went to church. During offerings, she put a big papaya on the altar. The fruit came from one of the trees she got from the TTT project. After the service, the papaya was auctioned. In the market, one papaya costs between TZS. 500/- and TZS. 1,000/-. This one was sold for TZS. 14,000/-!!
Lucas is a young adult with special needs. He assists his mother, Modesta Shekolimo, in watering her ten trees. This is an avocado tree that thrives thanks to Lucas’ care. In the TTT project, inclusion is not only preached. It is lived!
