Some women went to the IPR Stationery to laminate their certificates. Listen to their joy:

OSCAR HAS PICKED 8 BIG GUAVAS…

… and more fruits will be harvested.

Oscar is a young man who works as assistant to a person with intellectual disability. Together they help to water fruit trees. We can all play a role in climate change mitigation. No one can do everything but we can all do something.

MARY MARIDADI HAS ALSO HARVESTED HUNDREDS OF LIME-FRUITS👆🏾👆🏾

After seeing Mary Maridadi’s mango fruits, the Coordinator of the TTT project, MR. CLEMENT SHEHIZA admires hundreds of fruits on Mary’s lime tree. “This is really exemplary!”

THE 9TH PHASE OF PLANTING FRUIT TREES UNDER THE TTT PROJECTS HAS STARTED

ON 14TH MARCH 2025, AT 6.00 A.M., the 9th phase of the TTT project took off. Thirty women who had expressed their desire to plant fruit trees under the 9th phase of the TTT project started to gather at the tree-nursery. One of the counsellors of the TTT project, Deacon Justin, accompanied the women and watched as they picked up their seedlings. Each woman was allowed to take 10 seedlings to plant and tend close to her home.

The “Masika” rain season has begun so 300 trees being planted will have a good start. Types of fruit trees being planted are mango (60), avocado (60), guava (90) and lime (90).

Meanwhile, women who joined the TTT project in 2022 are harvesting buckets of lime fruits! We are trying to connect these women with customers outside Maramba. If you need lime, please contact us at +255 676 032663.

LEARNING TOGETHER AND SHARING EXPERIENCES ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF FRUIT TREES

Tend Ten Trees (TTT) members meet each Wednesday to learn and share experiences on how to take care of their fruit trees.

Co-ordinator Clement Shehiza telling the women: “When trees have been watered, the side roots assist the main root to absorb water”.

After Herrieth Bendera’s explanation, Esther Ngereza asks the other women: “TTT members, has our sister answered adequately?”
